Description[]

The silver Sentry Bot[1][2] hovers in place until Trace gets close to it. When alerted to Trace's presence, it hovers at a distance above trace, firing its turrets at him. It has a purple vertical sensor eye, two turrets and a segmented tail hanging under it.

Strategy[]

It has a tendency to get stuck in corners, therefore a good strategy is to attempt to trap it and use weapons that can go around or through terrain to damage it while blocking its turret fire.

Corrupted Form[]

Corrupted silver Sentry Bots have a slightly taller collision box. This is particularly useful during the hallucination sequence, where they will be unable to move past the occasional horizontal platform. (These platforms are only present during the hallucination sequence however.) When corrupted, silver Sentry Bots do not behave any differently.

SentryBot corrupted Its corrupted form looks a lot like the glitch Pokémon "Missingno" (this is noted in the game code). Also, corrupting one of this enemy will significantly buff Trace's 6th acquired weapon until he leaves the room. This is a reference to an item duplication glitch that occurs when you encounter Missingno in Pokemon Red and Blue.

The buff for that lucky weapon is equivalent to having picked many many Size Nodes (way more than there are in the whole game). Furthermore, if it didn't before, that weapon's projectiles will gain the ability to go through walls (but not through enemies).

The fact that buffed projectiles go through walls can be used to hit a switch in Ukkin-Na and collect Power Node Fragment #10 without the Red Coat (i.e: with just the Trenchcoat).
